In September of 1822, a ship carrying 70 immigrants left London bound for St. Joseph, a bustling city on The Mosquito Coast in the small Central American nation of Poyais. They were followed by hundreds more pilgrims, all looking for a better life. They were about to be severely disappointed.

Mark,
I really enjoy your brand of story telling. I've shared many episodes with friends and family. However, your "zingers" at the President, such as the one at the end of the Gregor McGregor episode are the intellectual equivalent of flapping your weenie at a bus load of school kids. It serves no meaningful purpose except to drive away listeners and perhaps to make you feel better.
You put out a better product when you keep those political views to yourself.

Hi Dan,
I appreciate you listening, and I appreciate you wanting to help me improve the show, if that is your aim. Unfortunately, however, your advice here isn't actionable.
History stories are never about the past, just as science-fiction stories are never about the future. Stories are always about the present, and they are always political. The job then, as the Chicago humorist and newspaper man Finley Peter Dunne once put it, is to comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable.
I'm not saying my flapping always or even usually succeeds in that mission, but you enjoining me to stop might be a sign that my weenie is at least pointed in the right direction.

I had a poor credit which was largely due to identity theft, I needed a loan to finance my business but could not get one because my credit was not just good enough, after trying everything things went from bad to worse, the more I disputed the lower my credit score went. This continued till a Pal introduced me to Lanx Credit Solution. I explained my position and they assured me that they could help me put things in order by fixing my credit and increasing my score. They kept their words, I am still in awe. I now have a credit score of 782, all the negative items that bedeviled my credit were removed finally. It was good one. I really want to thank Dr Emu for saving my marriage. My wife really treated me badly and left home for almost 3 month this got me sick and confused. Then I told my friend about how my wife has changed towards me then she told me to contact Dr Emu that he will help me bring back my wife and change her back to a good woman. I never believed in all this but I gave it a try. Dr Emu casted a spell of return of love on her, and my wife came back home for forgiveness and today we are happy again. Always prayed to be able to afford my needs, I had everything going well till I lost my job and things went south, the pandemic made things worse, the situation dealt with my report and my FICO score became too low, I could get a home, I had late payments, liens and inquiries on my report. I took a cue from a friend whom had similar issues but was helped by Lanx Credit Solution and contacted them, it didn’t even take 2 weeks and I got everything back, they removed all derogatory items and increased my FICO score to 780 now with a very good credit things are beginning to look up for me and my family. You can get them on [LANXCREDITSOLUTION@GMAIL.COM (214) 888 9709]. Tell them Avery referred you.

Omg I Finally Got Helped  !! I'm so excited right now, I just have to share my testimony on this Forum.. The feeling of being loved takes away so much burden from our shoulders. I had all this but I made a big mistake when I cheated on my wife with another woman  and my wife left me for over 4 months after she found out..  I was lonely, sad and devastated. Luckily I was directed to a very powerful spell caster Dr Emu who helped me cast a spell of reconciliation on our Relationship and he brought back my wife and now she loves me far more than ever.. I'm so happy with life now. Thank you so much Dr Emu, kindly Contact  Dr Emu Today and get any kind of help you want.. Via Email emutemple@gmail.com or Call/WhatsApp +2347012841542

Ellie Jones told me about Lanx Credit Solution and how they helped her increase her Fico and improve her credit, at first it was difficult to believe but I had pressing credit concerns that I needed to clear up I had foreclosure, evictions, late payments and some debts. It was like my life was over because I could not do anything about it, she persuaded me and I had to let them handle it. This review is as a proof that they are really good at what they do. My credit score sits at 760, and the evictions, late payments, and foreclosure on my credit reports are gone, my debts were also cleared. I appreciate their job and I would like you to contact them on LANXCREDITSOLUTION@GMAIL.COM or (214) 888 9709. It really was worth it.

I really enjoy the stories and the subjects you cover. This enjoyment is shattered when you toss in unnecessary and completely unrelated political comments. Please, stop. You cheapen the story and yourself.

Mark, as you unrolled the story of Gregor MacGregor before us, I found myself thinking, "Jeez, this jackass sounds like Donald Trump."

Thank you for bringing these stories to us, and for reminding us that no matter how much time passes, charlatans and swindlers will *always* be with us.

Cheers,
Rob
